Byron and Susan continue to work in response to the Black Forest Fire in Colorado as Samaritan’s Purse volunteers. They are working as the volunteer coordinators. In this role they are responsible for all of the volunteers, job sites, and work order management. April, Clark, Max, Carl, Jerry, Lou Ann, Linda, Kelley, Tammie, Marshall, John, Sue and many other of our regular volunteers are also working as Samaritan’s Purse volunteers in various capacities to include team leaders, assessors, and workers.
Teams from Rocky Mountain Calvary, Fox Meadows Church, Mountain Springs Church, Calvary Chapel Aurora, Calvary Chapel Thornton, Red Rocks Church, Village Seven, Woodmen Valley Chapel, and several other local churches in the Monument, Black Forest, and Colorado Springs, area have come to volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse. There have also been teams from Navigators, Compassion International, Focus on the Family, Kohl’s and several other organizations have also come out to volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse.
At the end of the day Tuesday the 9th of July Samaritan’s Purse had 259 total work orders written. As of this morning 68 work orders have been completed by others (friends and family or another organization). Samaritan’s Purse has completed 74 work orders and 117 remain open. Volunteers have started to thin a little with 100 in the morning and only six coming in yesterday afternoon. Please be praying that the volunteer count will stabilize until the work can be completed.
