November 2016 Workdays

Newsletter – November 2016

Current Status
Our season for crises relief in Colorado Springs, CO has again come to a close until May of next year.

We have been blessed to serve at 15 homes this year. The team has cleared well over 1,500 burned trees in the 26 weeks that we were able to work this year!

We experienced some challenges with Byron’s health this season. However, the team easily rose to those challenges ministering to the local community.

End Of Season Party!!
We are having our end of season party Saturday November 19th at Rocky Mount Calvary (4285 North Academy Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80918) in the junior high room from 11:00 to 1:30. We want to invite all volunteers, homeowners we have served, sponsors and donors, and anyone interested in the ministry. We are providing lunch and asking you to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

We need you to sign up for the party so we have a good count. We are providing lunch! Sign up for the end of season party here: EOS Party Signup Or can contact us via email at or via phone at 719.749.6286.

Off Season Activities
The off season is when we work to clean, perform maintenance, and repair tools. We also will be working on some trailer updates as well.

Byron and Susan also teach during the off season. Last year we were blessed to teach for the men’s group at Calvary Chapel Simi Valley and the men’s group for Wilson United Methodist. Teachings are from lessons about serving and grace that we have learned over the last 5 years. If you are interested in more information please contact us via email at or via phone at 719.749.6286.

Praise Reports (Answered Prayers)
God is good, all the time! We are blessed beyond our ability to understand.

  1. Byron’s heart surgery was a total success. The heart valve was successfully repaired and a complete recovery is expected.
  2. Workdays have been completed with only minor interruptions. THANK YOU to Susan for picking up the lead role and to all the volunteers who have stepped up to the challenges.

Prayer Requests
Here are the ministry needs for which we are seeking prayer:

  1. Help to wisely discern how to invest our time, resources, and talents.
  2. Opportunities to teach.
  3. Sourcing – Please pray that God will help us to get into the right places and organizations. Also that He will continue to help us get the donations required for tooling and supplies to support the volunteers in the work.

God has given us an excellent season and we have been wonderfully blessed. Please continue to pray for the ministry for travel mercies, provisions, protection, wisdom, and endurance. We have seen God answer prayer after prayer. We want to make sure that we never lose sight that all that has been done has been accomplished through the direct provision of God. God has been our source of strength, protection, and provision. As we continue in this season we want to encourage you to continue to pray for the ministry.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
